Cheque presented: BERG donates to the Bethel Children’s and Youth Hospice

Social commitment has become a kind of tradition at BERG. Under the motto “Donate. Help. Win.”, we launched a donation raffle last Christmas to support a project that is close to our hearts. All in all, we raised a total of € 2,750 through lot sales among the staff and a generous contribution from the company. This money will now go to the Bethel Children’s and Youth Hospice.

In the children’s hospice, children and young people with a life-shortening illness can be accommodated together with their families and accompanied during this difficult time. In this way, the families can stay together in Bethel, strengthen their relationship, regain energy and exchange experiences with other persons concerned. The affected children receive medical and nursing care from committed caregivers. Their siblings and parents are attended so that the whole family receives the support which they require.

When handing over the symbolic donation cheque, hospice director René Meistrell expressed his sincere thanks for the great support. In conversation with our managing director Georg Grautoff, he emphasised the family character of the facility: “The Bethel Children’s and Youth Hospice serves above all as a place of relaxation for the entire family. We look at what the affected children and their relatives really need so that rest and recreation are the focus.”

The donations are used for therapy services that are not covered by the health insurance providers, such as riding, music or art therapies. We are happy to contribute to the valuable work of the Bethel Children’s and Youth Hospice.
